There are several service areas within the department: Public Health Services
deals with the health and well being of the citizens of Alpine County. Their
services include Health Care in a clinic with a licensed physician, Prevention of
communicable diseases, Tobacco Education, Immunizations, Well Child
Examinations, HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and much more. For

Environmental Health Services deals with the health and well being of our
environment. Their services include water monitoring, food and restaurant
permits, well permits, swimming pool construction, and much more. For more

Behavioral Health Services deals with the emotional well being of the population
of Alpine County. For more information on the services provided, click on the

Social Services deals with programs for certain populations in need or at risk in
Alpine county, including such areas as Welfare Assistance, Foster Home
Support, Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services(APS & CPS are on
